The Nordic Experience, the electronic music scene in Sweden.
Not everybody knows that Sweden is one of the countries with the highest amount of public money spent on art and cultural initiatives, especially for the younger generations.
This is surely one of the reasons why the Swedish music scene has been rising so much in the last decades and it keeps flourishing with new currents and new artists.
With the arrival of the german house music culture, Sweden quickly began to explore the genre and mix it with the local style.
Swedish House Mafia, Steve Angello, Sebastian Ingrosso and Axwell, later on together with the DJ and producer Avicii, represented Sweden around the world in the house music scene.
Concerning the more niece downtempo like ambient, lounge and chillout, the genre is not well represented, but still the movement is strong.
Among the record labels representing downtempo in Sweden we find PANG Records!, based in Stockholm and other minor and mostly independent record labels publishing autonomously.
The production is still interesting and even if it doesn’t find place in the House top 10 of Beatport or Spotify, it is largely used for background playlists or soundtracks for movies, tv and documentaries.
Blissful Moods, for its part, is always looking for new collaborations with the artists working in this genre. The idea is to be able to propose and represent their works to the cinematografic and tv industry majors and provide an always fresh catalogue.
